NOTE: Due to the confidential nature of not only the projects I have worked on in my career, but also in many cases even who our clients are (read: NDA), I am not able to disclose many specifics or actual client deliverables. However, I hope to demonstrate my thought process & approach to projects as well as any public-facing writing samples or work I have created.

Case Study Videos for a Major Airport's Innovation Team

Video Script & Storyboard Creation & Voiceover

July 2024 - October 2024, Method

Our team at Method was asked to help a major airport's innovation team in creating 10+ videos in order to showcase & market the incredible projects their team had been working on in recent years to improve both employee & customer experiences as well as improve efficiency & sustainability efforts at the airport.

Process & Activities

  1. Review of All Client Documentation for Each Case Study Project Topic

  2. Stakeholder Interviews to Understand the Desired Video Direction

  3. Video Script Writing & Storyboard Ideation

  4. Collaboration & Script Review with Stakeholders

  5. Coordination with Video Production Team and Client Employee Interviewees*

  6. Creation of Filming Schedule

  7. Voiceover for Video Narration, as needed

  8. Video Shareout Strategy

*Video production took place in a different state than our team resided so most communication needed to be virtual.

Major Learnings

  • This was my first project working not only with clients but also with a video production team vendor. Our team had to do lots of communication and coordination between all parties, while ensuring (from afar) that the clients' vision was able to be executed by the video production team.

  • This project gave me an opportunity to flex more of my creative muscles and skills than I had previously been able to do at Method. Having the opportunity to combine product and UX strategy with script writing, voiceover, and project management as needed was an experience that helped solidify my creative skillset not just in personal endeavors, but in my professional ones as well.

"Applying the Scientific Method to User Testing"

Thought Leadership Article

Published July 2022, Method

During my first project at Method, a colleague of mine mentioned that he enjoys utilizing hypotheses as a part of user research. It got me thinking about how in its essence, user testing is very much akin to the entire scientific method & after having that discussion with a few other colleagues, I was encouraged to write a thought leadership piece for the company website.

  • Great learning opportunity to become more familiar with the field of pet insurance & insurance in general

  6. Wireframes Created in Sketch (including UX copy)

  7. UI Design*

  8. Usability Testing & Insights Gathering

  9. Development*

*Activity done by a different team member

Major Learnings

  • Huge lesson in & great experience working on mobile applications, as, at this point in my career, neither my colleague nor I had ever worked on one before.

  • Great exercise in collaboration, working with a government client with many legal constraints, & improving our virtual usability test conducting skills.

    • Note: this project began before the pandemic, but we still needed to do most of our research remotely, as many of our users lived elsewhere across the country. This did indeed prepare us well for the pandemic world we didn't know we were about to be working through.
